Conversations, série en cours, diptyque textes et photographies, 2018/2019 

Dans cette première série, il s’agit d’archiver les paroles de celleux faisant partie des minorités sexuelles et de genres vivant l’intersectionnalité à La Réunion. Il s’agit d’incarner les différentes discussions avec les personnes de la communauté Queer à la manière drag ; Il est donc question d’exagérer les multiples assignations afin de les renverser : Judith Butler explique dans son concept de « performativité du genre » que la figure du drag prouve au genre qu’il peut être joué, théâtralisé, performé. Il s’agirait de parler du genre, de la race, de la classe comme une construction sociale. 
La visibilité de ces corps oppressés est nécessaire, mais reste très difficile dans un contexte de haine latent envers la diversité sexuelle et de genre. Il faut alors fabriquer de nouvelles stratégies : visibilisé sans révéler. 
La pratique du drag où il s’agit de performer un autre corps que le sien permet de garder l’anonymat de celleux qui participent au projet.

In this first series, the aim is to archive the words of those who are part of the sexual and gender ‘minorities’ experiencing intersectionality in Reunion Island. It is about embodying the different discussions with people from the queer community in a drag way. It is therefore about exaggerating the multiple assignments in order to better reverse them. Judith Butler explains with her concept of ‘performativity of gender’ that the figure of the drag proves that gender can be played, dramatised, and performed. It thus enables us to talk about gender, race and class as social constructions.
The visibility of these oppressed bodies is necessary, but remains very difficult in a context of latent hatred towards sexual and gender diversity. New strategies have to be developed: it is about making visible without revealing.
The ‘practice’ of drag - which involves performing a body other than one's own - makes it possible to keep the anonymity of those who participate in the project. Therefore, it enables people to become visible without revealing who they really are, and that is a significant form of protection and empowerment.
